Chics Ecumenical Workshop
Our inspirational song says it all: "This little Chic will grow, grow to be a rooster, this little Chic will grow, grow to be a hen ...”

After some time of thorough planning our little Chic managed to leap to one of its milestones. We hosted a successful workshop on 15 September that was attended by 14 representatives from 6 different churches (1 from Mpumalanga, 3 from Gauteng and 2 from Limpopo). The aim was to share the programme’s vision and to interest churches in starting pilot phase Chics programmes in their communities. The workshop was a big step towards our dream of propelling Chics to fly to the whole Southern Africa to create and consolidate meaningful relationships for the quality of life of children.

The representatives showed a lot of interest in our programme and we are looking forward to work with them.

We would like to acknowledge and appreciate churches that sent us representatives: URCSA Orange Farm, URCSA Namakgale, URCSA Mamelodi Phahameng, URCSA Indermark/ Hlatsane, DRC Halweghuis and the Anglican Parish of White River. We are also thankful towards our guest speaker Rev. Francois Smit who spoke to us about "The church as God's hands and feet into the community". Our most high regards to God for His sufficient grace and love.

To God be the glory!!!!

200 000 mark reached!
Nova has since 2009 captured more than 200 000 interviews with household representatives mainly in low-income contexts. Many of these interviews include questions on energy usage patterns of households and a substantial number of complex household interviews were conducted that also assess the health status of communities.

Nova employs state-of-the-art technology that allows for pre-programmed skip patterns so that respondents are not asked questions that are not relevant to them (e.g. about child care for people who do not have children). Surveys are one of the services Nova renders particularly to businesses who measure the impact of their CSR programmes as well as to industries who are concerned about the impact of their activities on community stakeholders.

GS986 project registered
The status of Nova’s second Gold Standard Verified Emission Reduction Project (Highveld Air Quality - NFS project) with project ID of GS986, has recently been Registered. This project follows in the footsteps of Nova’s first registered project (GS 987 HAQ-Emfuleni) that registered in July 2011.

Several further Nova projects have been listed on the GS registry and we hope that these projects will follow suit and register soon.
